In this entertaining new format and intimate setting of table and chair seating, the Connecticut River Valley Orchestra offers the first of two delightful chamber music concerts in its ‘10/11 season. This elegant evening event features Orchestra members performing single movements from an array of string quartets from diverse countries, including Czech Republic (Dvoƙák’s Quartet No. 10, Op. 51 “Slavonic”), America (Samuel Barber’s Adagio), China (Bright Sheng’s String Quartet No. 4 “Silent Temple”), Russia (Prokofiev’s Quartet No. 1, Op. 50), and Germany (Brahms’ String Quartet No. 1, Op. 51).
