Stephen Langley is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire in Music Education and is currently the Ensemble Assistant at the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. Picking up the trumpet in elementary school in Lebanon, N.H., he chose not to put it down and consequently sought a career in music. After earning his undergraduate degree, he taught music in Massachusetts and Maine. Returning to the Upper Valley, and following brief stints in hotel, hospital and arts management, he began his return to education and for almost a decade, trained digital mapping technicians at a local high-tech firm while pursuing his Master’s Degree in adult learning. He kept his hand in music performance by accepting the executive directorship of the Harmony Ridge Brass Center, a resource center for professional brass players. Returning fully to the arms of academia, he most recently accepted a position working with the student performance ensembles at the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth. During much of this century, he has had the distinct pleasure of introducing musical selections at concerts of the Dartmouth Wind Symphony under then conductor Max Culpepper. Mr. Langley is pleased offer his services again to Max with the Connecticut River Valley Orchestra.
